Measure Numbers for Partial Measures

I have a Barbershop arrangement that requires splitting a measure to create a short pickup measure. This works well, but the measure number feature doesn't detect that the measure has been split so assigns sequential numbers to the two adjacent "short" measures. Is there a way to reset the starting measure number somewhere in the score?
