I don't know what I did, I need help

I was making a song in Musescore and I don't know exactly what happened but now every time I try to place down an accent it's on the bottom of the staff instead of on top. I don't know how to fix it

Click on the accent to select it, then press X to flip above/below the note. By default the accent will be placed close to the notehead (not at the end of the stem).

The correct default location for ordinary accents is indeed on the notehead side, so above the staff for notes that rate stem down, below the staff for notes that are stem up. You shouldn't need to mess with that default in most cases, since that's correct according to how almost all publishers do it. Except for percussion music, which sometimes places all accents above. If that's what you are doing, and you wish to emulate those publisher that notate that way, then in that case, select one accent, then go to the Inspector and find where it says "Anchor", change it to say "Above Chord" (the default is "Chord Automatic"), then press the "set as style" button (with the "S" icon ) to the right of that control. Now all accents in that score will go above.

But, only do that if the entire score is percussion; otherwise, all the other instruments that expect accents to be on the notehead side will now be wrong. if you have a mix of percussion and pitched instruments, instead, wait until you are done with the score, then right-click one accent on the percussion staff, Select / All Similar Elements in Same Staff, and now set to "Above Chord" but don't press there "S" button.
