2 blank music pages
I haven't used MuseScore in a while and when I opened it showed me scores I've worked on before but when I picked a score to look at it showed me two identical pages of the score overlapped. I only want one not two. I'm confused. Not sure how to delete the one I don't need.

I didn't see a side by side choice. I'm still not familiar with everything on MuseScore.

Look carefully at the menu option View > Documents Side by Side. If this option is enabled (= ticked or checked), then that's your problem. In that case, you should disable the option.
