Synthesia does not read tempo markings from Musescore MIDI Export?

As title, I tried exporting a MIDI file from Musescore and load it into Synthesia. My score has rapid varying tempos in a matter of measures (ranging from Quarter Note 71-120 BPM on average).

However, Synthesia seems to not read any tempo markings on the MIDI file, playing back at a constant 120 BPM instead. Does this have anything to do with Musescore MIDI or Synthesia?
