Articulation time stretch

In bar 10, in all the recordings I've listened to, the end of the second beat and the beginning of the third beat have a definite break. A staccato is too short and there isn't a way to extend articulation time stretches except for fermatas. Is there another articulation that would work better? Or another workaround? I'd like to recreate the performance pieces if possible.
