Playing at half or double speed glitch when I leave a file open

• Mar 29, 2022 - 03:10

I've noticed lately that if I have a file open and either close my laptop or go into another tab for a while, I'll come back and the piece will be playing either too fast or too slow, at what I'm assuming is half/double speed (I've never counted). The only solution I've found so far is to quit Musescore and open it again, but this is a pain especially when I have several projects open at once.

I was wondering if there's maybe a reset (similar to reset I/O devices for headphone vs. speaker issues?) or whether this is just a current glitch since it hasn't always been like this.

Also, if there isn't an immediate solution, is there a way to restart Musescore and reopen any files automatically, preserving the last session?

I've not heard of this issue before, sorry.
You could check the play panel and perhaps changing the tempo slider in there (and then back again, double click on it will set it to 100%) is enough of a trigger to fix whatever caused it.

As for restoring the active session, you can set this in Edit > Preferences > General > Program start
