change note to pause
Hello i am trying to change a pause to its equivalent lenght note. I read the manual and it says to select the pause and press the note i want (for example G)
But when i do that the G note will be added, making the bar longer
What am i doing wrong?

p.s.
i am able to do the reverse, if i select a note and then click the pause icon on top it correctly change according the selected time value

You are probably in Insert mode. You should use the default "Step time" mode. See https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/note-input#note-input-modes
