Playback bar isn't working

All of a sudden my playback bar isn't working on Musescore. I can't play any notes or music I'm trying to compose. I tried checking the I/O, but it's empty. I also can't open the Synthesizer. I restarted the Audio and MIDI Devices as well as using the mac terminal to restart the entire application, but playback still isn't working.
(I attached image of what my Musescore looks like)

Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Based on what you describe, it seems likely another application has requested exclusive use of the device driver MuseScore was using. But normally I hear about that on Windows, and it looks like you are on macOS? Try the suggestions in https://musescore.org/en/node/96811, particularly the note at the end about certain programs causing problems on macOS.
