Edit "MuseJazz" Musical Symbols Font?

• Apr 30, 2022 - 00:41

For score styling, I use the style settings:

  • Musical symbols font = "MuseJazz"
  • Musical text font = "MuseJazz Text"

The MuseJazz musical text font has been customized based on the LilyJazz font, as shown in the attached image. I would similarly like to be able to customize the musical symbols font so that the numerals displayed in the time signature and multi-bar rests can be styled likewise.

The is no user setting for this. But is there an XML attribute buried somewhere in the program files that I can edit to achieve this?

Thank you.

This would require you to recompile MuseScore yourself as those fonts are compiled in.
If you don't have any programming/building from source experience you're in for a fairly though learning curve and in the end your score will only be looking like what you want on your local machine. As soon as you share it with anyone else (or share it on .com) it'll revert back to their compiled-in standard version of the font.

Thank you. Yes, it's looking to be out of reach for me.

I've never uploaded my charts to MuseScore.com. I distribute parts to musicians in PDF format and also print to paper for band members. If it were possible for me to make this change, that's where I'd be wanting it to be displayed.
