Adding Text

• Nov 9, 2009 - 02:00

Firstly, I've only been using MuseScore for a couple of weeks and I must say it's a great program. I have been using Finale PrintMusic which is also very good but it's an older version and won't install on Vista. So far, MuseScore does just about everything I need it to do but I'm having a problem including text/lyrics. I have no problem including lyrics within the score itself but I want to add verses at the end of the page after the score. I've tried selecting a note and then clicking on 'add lyrics' (CTRL+L?) but this is a bit 'flaky'. I wondered if there is a better way of doing this. Including something like a text box that you have in Word would be fine --- it doesn't have to be linked to the actual music notation in any way.

Anyhow, thanks in advance.

Click on a measure, then right-click on an empty space, select "measures" and you see a few options to insert or append a frame. For generic text, you can append vertical frame, then right-click again inside the frame, select "insert horizontal frame", then right-click again inside the new frame and select "add text". Perhaps there could be a simpler way to do that but for now it works fine.
