Slurring across a grace note

• May 26, 2022 - 22:48

When I range select two notes and press s they are both included "within" the slur.

When there's a grace note between two range selected notes, pressing s only slurs between the first selected note and the grace note. Is this by design? Strikes me as odd.

It's not by design no, more just an accident really and lack of foresight. For now, the wy to slur to the main note is select the two notes you want slurred (eg, Ctrl+click) first.

Correct. The method of selection makes slurring work as expected. And it sounds like we're in agreement that this requirement shouldn't be required.

Heres' another workaround: after adding such a slur, shift-right arrow to extend the slur's domain.

These workarounds were apparent to me. I was simply reporting an issue. But thanks!

You can move the slur or just its ends until it fits visually.
I think when you set a slur it is quite correct that it goes to the E, otherwise it is a tie.
If you had taken the tie, it would have been drawn between the grace note G and the G.

Edit:

The one on the right side is a tie (shifted up slightly), all others are modified slurs.
