Not able to connect to Roland UM-One
New to musescore. I have a Roland UM-ONE connecting a midi keyboard to my PC, Windows 10. This is working with other software. I would also like to use this with musescore but am not getting it to work.
My assumption was that I could go into preferences, I/O tab and select the UM-ONE there for midi input and output. But there is nothing to select in the drop-down list. The other program I use is not running so there should be no conflict there.
Any suggesting on what I am doing wrong?
Tom

Yes I have seen that, but there is nothing there that helps.
Step 2 says Click on the I/O tab and select your device under the section labeled "MIDI input".
But there are no devices in the list to select.

Assuming you did start MuseScore after connecting and turning on the keyboard, then this suggests your driver is not compatible, or your OS is preventing other programs from accessing it. Make sure the driver is updated and 64-bit. If only 32-bit drivers are available, you need a 32-bit version of MuseScore. You also need to make sure Windows isn't set to allow exclusive use of audio devices - even if nothing else is using it currently, there's no guarantee it was properly released.

That's it! I had to un-tick "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device" in my speaker properties of all places. It's working now. Thanks!

Excellent! It’s a maze for sure. So many different possible configurations, so many things to check. Glad you figured this one out!
