How can I change the size of the icons?

• Oct 20, 2022 - 19:32

Hi, I have just downloaded and installed musescore 3.
I have a 50in screen.
Even so, the icons look very small; for example the ones for note values, playback, file operations and all the submenus in the palettes.
Take for instance, the Clefs.
The word Clefs is a good size, but when I click on the arrow to the left of the word, the icons showing the available clefs are so small as to be very difficult to read. This is true of all the palettes.
I presume there is some kind of global view adjustment available to change the global size of icons but I have looked and cannot find it.
Help please!

This is pretty common when using non-traditional display configurations - the operating system doesn't communicate the true resolution, and MuseScore sizes things based on what it is told the resolution is rather than what it really is. Fixes depend on what OS you are on and other details of your system. But in general, on Windows, you can often do well by finding the EXE file for MuseScore somewhere under C:\Program Files, right-clicking it, Properties / Compatibility, and playing with the different high DPI settings. "System" or "System (enhanced)" are often good choices. Or, one systems where you have access to the command line, try adding "-D xxx" where "xxx" is the true resolution in DPI.
