Horizontal break and the last measure help...

• Oct 29, 2022 - 15:54

Hey Musescore fam,

I am creating an exercises page for my students and I want the last example (example 16) to have the same layout as the rest of the page. When I add the notes in the measure and a horizontal break to separate the measures, the last measure is kicked to the bottom and extended way out...I have the spacing for all the horizontal breaks set to 15sp width, but still doesn't follow the same look and feel as the rest. I assume it's just a setting I need to tweak. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!

It's hard to say what's going on from just a picture, but if you attach the score itself, we can understand and assist better. Could well be it simply doesn't fit without reducing spacing.

One thing I can tell from the picture is that it looks like you've tried manually hiding courtesy time signatures. Don't do that; just disable them. Either score-wide in Format / Style / Page, or for individual time signatures in the Inspector.

Yikes! Those stretch adjustments are definitely a big problem; they are all over the place and making the formatting off. They shouldn't be there at all. Best to do Crtrl+A to select all, then Format / Stretch / Reset Layout Stretch to put everything back where it belongs. And turn off the courtesy time signatures.
