Musescore 4 file corrupted, no backups
Hi all, this morning while revisiting a score, the file became corrupted, and I am not sure as to why. Despite my efforts I have not been able to find any backups or previous versions for this or any other Musescore 4 file. I can't attach the file because it is slightly too big, but I would like to know if backup files are created at all for Musescore 4 projects, and any other potential processes for recovering the file. Thank you!

Backup files are created indeed, but they are named differently than MuseScore 3. What OS are you on? Also, what happens if you press "Ignore" when MsueScore 4 reports the file is corrupted?
As for other backups, on Windows, OneDrive also maintains recently saved versions so you should be able to restore one (unless you disabled OneDrive for some reason). On macOS, Time Machine can perform a similar function.

I am on Windows 10, although I have not had space in OneDrive to save more recent files. When I press "ignore", nothing happens, it just gives me a blank space with no score whatsoever. This is what it looks like. If the backups are named differently from MuseScore 3, what are they called?

You might want to just try that same thing again, crazy as it seems. I've occasionally seen problematic scores come up - nor not come up - that way at first, then on the second try, eventually they load.
Anyhow, I'm not 100% sure of the details on Windows 10, but on Linux at least, and I'm pretty sure on Windows 11, the backups are in a hidden folder inside the current folder, called ".mscbackup".
