Installing 4.0b deleted 3.6 installation

• Nov 2, 2022 - 11:16

I decided to have a go with the MuseScore 4.0 beta, and downloaded the Hub installer and let it install the MuseScore 4.0 beta. I was a bit disappointed to discover that, on doing this, MuseHub had deleted the previous version MuseScore 3.6 from my applications folder.

It's not such a huge issue because I could download 3.6 again, and they seem to coexist happily (having a differently named application helps). But please reconsider not deleting previous major versions and especially for beta tests, when score layout and playback has changed so fundamentally I expect to need to return to 3.6 when I revisit old projects.

(I'm currently using MacOS 12.6)

It seems to be a Mac-only issue (and not on all macs afaik). Please add your voice and specific information to the github issue about this, if there isn't one, then please create one.
