"To Coda" not working

I have a piece that runs Verse 1, Chorus, Verse 2, then a segno to repeat the chorus; from the chorus I want it to jump to a Coda. The segno plays correctly, but it goes right through the "to Coda" and replays verse 2.
Any way to fix this? Or just go with voltas instead?
