MuseScore 4 Playback Tie Issue

• Dec 17, 2022 - 04:45

I have an issue when multiple voices converge to a single note that are tied to a sustain.

If one voice is is tied to a sustain in the next measure (this might be an issue inside an individual measure as well; it's just that in this instance it happens to be across measures) then the playback drops out and the sustain doesn't continue past the end of the previous note. Here is a screenshot of the score, where voice one is the descending quarter notes starting on D and voice two is the quarter notes on F that go down to the B on the last beat. Voice one is what is then tied to the whole note in the next measure while voice two has nothing in that or the next measure, visible or otherwise.

During playback, regardless of if I'm using the basic soundfont or Sounds, the quarter note plays but it does not sustain through either whole note. That's true too if I tie voice two instead of one. The only way I can make the sustain play is if either the notes are no longer the same (if I change either voice to being any other note) or if I delete either voice entirely and keep the other one tied.

I can tell from the mixer it's not just an issue with volume; that channel clearly just stops playing all audio.
