Can't play my scores in Musescore 4
Just got Musescore 4, put a few notes in a new piano score, the bar that's supposed to move across the page just appears and doesn't move so I can't play anything.
Tried it with a Musescore 3 score I wrote and same thing happened.

Same observation. Older scores from Musescore 3 do play, however.
Same here. Mixer is empty. Sounds missing? How do I proceed?

I reinstalled over the existing MS4 installation (Windows 10, 64bit) by downloading from here.
Then I started the MuseHub again (or it started by itself), then I noticed that Windows Defender blocked some MuseScore activity (access to some directory). I manually allowed the access of MuseScore to the directories, and it turned out that it was the directory with the sounds.
Now it works, the mixer is populated and it plays!
May be this helps.

Thank you! It was Windows Defender.
Me too! Now I can't open it in Muse 3 either since I did a couple things in Muse 4. I should know better than to try new software the day it's offered.

You should better not overwrite your 3.x scores with 4.x ones, never a good idea
Now you can still export as MusicXML in 4 and import that in 3
