Program slows down drastically when using musesounds

MS4 is at the moment essentially unusable when writing for larger ensambles since it takes between 2 and 10 seconds to do anything when it comes to interacting with the software no matter if that is selecting a note changing time signature etc. The playback is also difficult to make useful since it is filled with weird sparks and occasional complete silence, it also drags a lot when using it meaning that it is difficult to hear what you have written unless you export the project. This problem has also gotten worse since I started using the program and even in empty projects it is noticable which it wasn't before, I was pointed here from the issue tracker site.
