Non-metered long ornaments

Hello,
I'm trying to transcribe a baroque keyboard piece (Graupner's Partita GWV 149) for fun and out of curiosity how nice it will look in MuseScore 4 :)

Is there a preferred way of entering long, unmetered ornaments like this?

Obviously, the chain of demisemiquavers doesn't fit into the second beat (4/4 signature), but I'd like to keep the ornament's notation as it is in the manuscript.

I have found out about the following possibilities, but perhaps someone could add to this or confirm that one of the options works well -

1. adjusting the bar length to fit the additional notes
2. fiddling with tuplets
3. insert mode?
