Musescore 4 not playing keys/chords correctly on transcribed instruments

• Jan 6, 2023 - 04:16

Generate a part for a non-concert instrument (in my case Baritone Sax and Tenor Sax). I then add a key/chord to one part, for specifics, I put a key of A on the Baritone part. I then copy/paste the measure from the Baritone to the Tenor. As the Baritone is keyed in Eb and the Tenor is keyed in Bb, the key of A is transcribed up a 5th and the Tenor key is in D. This is correct and works as musescore 3.x (and presumably earlier) worked. However, I now play the two parts together. The keys, transcribed to concert pitch should both be C and thus the two played chords should be the same. They are not. In my case, I have scores with multiple transcribed instruments and keys overlaid on different ones. Playing this back sounds awful.
I'm not sure what it is actually doing but my guess is the keys are played all in Concert pitch, regardless of the key of the instrument they are attached to. The individual notes are played correctly but the keys/chords are not.
Is this a known issue? Something I am doing wrong?

Ok cool, hopefully it can be addressed soon. I'm glad the install of Musescore 4 does not preclude me from running musescore 3.

Also, is it intentional that I click on a location on my score and play, only the selected instrument plays? If I want the entire score to play, I have to click the first instrument and then shift-click the last instrument. Maybe there is another way I am supposed to start playing than hitting the space bar?

I also had the addition of a measure break playback for the rest of the score. When I added the single measure, the display failed to show the measure. I then added a second measure and it now showed visually that 2 measures were there but I could not add any notes to either of them. Also, if I played the score, all notes after this measure failed to play. If I deleted the 2 new measures, visually, the score went back to the way it was but the only way I could recover the rest of the score was to revert back to a previous save. Maybe there are other ways of recovering corrupted scores?
