Does musescore 4 save backup files?

• Jan 9, 2023 - 07:12

I've been enjoying musescore 4.0 recently but I've run unto a few problems today.

Having just created parts, I needed to add 20 bars to the middle of a piece I was working on. I did this to the score but it has made a complete mess of the parts. I couldn't find a way to delete the parts and create new ones which would correspond with the updates made to the score. In the meantime, something has happened to the score; it's now showing rogue rests, completely empty bars, and it's deleted lots of notes. It would be great to simply go back to an older version of the file, but I'm not sure that that is possible. Otherwise, the only solution I can see is to start again.

Musescore has the last autosaved version in it's hidden folders. If you want multiple previous versions sync your folder with OneDrive or Dropbox so that you have many many retrievable versions.
