Arpeggio and legato issues after channel change via staff text

After changing the electric guitar timbre from clean to overdrive via a staff text, chords with arpeggio are played with the original, not the current, timbre. Also, legatures are not honored, but I'm not sure if this depends on the staff text or just the instrument being played. Check the attached file. Note that the attached excerpt originally comes from a Musescore 3.x file where it sounds right: I haven't looked up if it's possible to edit the channel of a staff text in Musescore 4 since I don't see an option where it used to be.
