notation guitar barre one more time

• Jan 18, 2023 - 11:42

hey, I have read previous discussions regarding guitar barre markings, specifically the bar before the chord. Has this been resolved somehow since then? I'm from Poland and in our country too, a straight line with a hook at the bottom is the mostly used barre marking. The only way to be able to change the height of the barre (i.e. not to use a special mark) is to combine with an element from the arpeggio palette?

I am posting a picture from the book on musical notation Behind bars by Elaine Gould. I would like to achieve just such an effect.

Best regards!

Thank you very much for your reply and tip. I have seen this special symbol, but if I enlarge it to be the height of the stave it also grows the hook at the bottom.

And is it possible to edit this symbol not from the program position but as a graphic and import it? (This is done with fonts that don't have Polish characters for example). If I made the hook smaller at the beginning it wouldn't be so big when enlarged.

I get a better effect using from the Lines -> Staff. If I arrange it well the end result is perfect, just arranging it every time it needs barre is very time consuming. Maybe it's possible to somehow save the settings of an element and drop it into the palette in that form so I can use it later in the same way?

I hope I've written this reasonably logically :)
