Decrease measure width
I have one measure with a great deal of space between beat 2 and beat 3. I looked through the documentation and tried using the "SHIFT {" but that did not work. How do I decrease the stretch or width of just one measure?

JoJo: Here's another measure that went across the whole page. How do I compress it down to the proper width?

Jojo: Deleting the system break worked, as you said it would, in the last example I sent to you where an entire page was affected. Here is another case where, in bar 177, it is wider than it should be. Deleting the system break did not work in this case. Any suggestions?

Click on the Eb7 chord symbol in bar 177 and in the properties appearance panel you will see that you have a leading space of 30.12. Reset that to 0 with the circular arrow above the setting box and the bar reverts to a sensible width.

Or, again, select the measure (177) and press Ctrl+R

I tried that and nothing happened. Does CTRL+R only reset offsets and not leading space? Or are Chord symbols not included in the selection? Or something else?

Ah, possible

Thanks, Steve, there's no way I could have figured that out without your help! I wonder how that problem happened in the first place!
