[Bug?] MS4 won't play a note if it's been pressed on another staff

Pls see the score below. I need to leave a silence 8th note highlighted in red. If I instead let the C be a white note (2 beats), the C on the RH won't play because it has been played by the LH previously. Is this behavior by design?

I'd like MS4 to ignore this and just play the notes as they appear, as if coming from a second piano. Is this possible?
