Crescendos not working with voltas

I just wrote a piece that has a crescendo in one section before that section repeats. The end of the section uses a volta. However, the crescendo is ignored on the second repeat. I experimented with a different score and it seems like everything is normal when the repeat doesn't use a volta, it plays the crescendo both times, but as soon as I put a volta in the crescendo doesn't play the second time. Is there a way to fix it, or is it just a bug?
