adding cues
I am writing a string quartet and have a 2 bar measure where I need to add a cue about what the violincello is playing for the other 3 instruments.
I had asked Marc this and his comment was Hello! The "cue" is on the Properties palette - just copy the notes, enable Cue and disable Play.
I am still use 3.6 and could not even find cue on the properties palette.
Please advies.

Look for "Cut away" in the staff properties dialog

I don't think 'cut away' is what the OP asks Jojo.
For correct cue's:
In MS4, on the properties palette, check Cue size, uncheck play, inverse voice 1-4 (because you want rests) and add stafftext with instrument name.
In MS3, select notes. In inspector: select notes, check Chord => small, Note => small and uncheck Play. Exchange voice 1-4 (because you want rests), add staff text with instrument name and make it small.
i use a home made plugin for it, that does most of the work for me. (just change 'cue' instrument name)

This image is what I understand as cue notes (small notes on the same staff as the instrument part). In this case, the piano notes are the cue leading up to the entry of the Violin 1 at the a tempo:
