How to add slurs and articulations to RESTS?
I want to add slurs and articulations to rests, because I want to make a score where the performer is supposed to feel different durations/rythms of rests but not play anything. This is not a work-around for something else. I also don't want to use drum notation, I specifically only want to use rests. How can I do this? Thanks in advance.

i don't think this can be done within the limitations you have set, i.e. only using rests.

In staff text you could use some special characters and add explanations for their interpretation.
Other composers could prefer fermatas to articulate the rests.
It's not clear what you mean about different durations and rhythms - articulations don't indicate rhythm at all. But anyhow, you can add any symbol you like to a rest via the Symbols palette (see View / Master palette).
