Transposing in MuseScore 4.01

Hi, I converted a pdf score into MuseScore. I'd like to transpose it, as the sheet music is in Eb (3 flats) and the opening vocal line starts on a "g". When this song was recored a couple of times, the singer begins on "e" three tones lower. So I selected "Transpose" and asked for it to go down to the key of C, so the melody would start a minor third lower than my score. When I do this, the score drops a whole octave instead, still begins on G, and the key indications are still 3 flats. Someone help, if you can! this used to work fine in MS 3.6.2.
