Crashes in MuseScore 3.6.2 with Midi Controller Attached

• Mar 7, 2023 - 01:33

I used to have no problem using my M-Audio Keystation Mini 32 MK3 with MuseScore (3.6.2.548021803, rev. 3224f34). Since installing a sound card, MuseScore would always crash on startup if the M-Audio is attached to the desktop - it runs fine if the M-Audio is not attached.

What I had before the problem:
- Dell Precision 3240 Compact
- On-board sound (Realtek)
- Windows 10 LTSC 21H2

What I changed (this happened in order):
- disabled on-board sound in Windows Device Manager and in the BIOS,
- installed Sound Blaster Audigy Fx (SB 1570),
- downloaded and installed latest drivers,
- realized I got the wrong card, so I uninstalled the drivers and removed the card from the motherboard,
- installed Sound Blaster Audigy Fx V2 (SB 1870),
- downloaded and installed latest drivers/software.
I don't recall installing all of the software, but I did install the Creative App.

Now, every time I try to start MuseScore with the M-Audio attached, I get the crash reporter window.

Also, if I start MuseScore without the M-Audio, then attach it and hit the reset audio devices button, MuseScore crashes, and I get the crash reporter window again.

Am I missing something? Has anyone else encountered a similar issue? Any help would be appreciated.
