Creating bars without staff
Is there a way I can create basic rhythm note bars/measures without having the staff? Just quarter, half, whole, (etc..) notes with bar lines in between.

You can have a single line staff
Tick the "Invisible stave lines" box in Stave/Part properties.
To get rid of all staff lines...
In Staff/Part properties:

you can make staff lines invisible (e.g., for printing).
To hide the "invisible" lines from actually displaying on the computer monitor:

where you can hide/show all invisible objects in your score.
