Lyrics in wrong stave

I download .kar (Midi Karaoke) files from the internet to learn songs. Sometimes the lyrics are displayed in the wrong stave and words are missing because the notation is not the same as the melody stave. Copying and pasting to the melody stave does not work because of the missing words. Anybody have a solution to this problem. Thanks.
