What music files are recognized

What you are looking for is a way to import MP3, MP4 and WAV sound files into MuseScore?

MuseScore cannot do this, but a Google search finds products which claim to capture sound files and to export the result as a notation format.

Whichever solution you find, the software must be able to export in a format which MuseScore can open: ideally MusicXML, but also MIDI. Don't expect a perfect result, because the task has been described as "just as difficult as unscrambling eggs". Multiple instruments are problematic, and even SATB voices get muddled.
