Issue with highlighted chord after using "Move chord/rest right/left" (Shift-Right, Shift-Left)

• May 5, 2023 - 17:32

Bug report. Here is how to reproduce:
1) Let's create a bar with 8 quarter rests, replace the rest on beat 2 with a quarter note
2) Enter note entry mode with 'N' on this note
3) Move the note to beat 4 with 4 times Shift-Right
4) Blue highlighted entry point is staying on beat 2
5) Move the entry point with 'Right' key, the highlight jumps directly to beat 4.5, after the moved note.
==> expected to move only 1 step right, to beat 2.5
6) Move back the highlight on the note on beat 4
7) Move the note to beat 2 with 4 times Shift-Left
8) Highlight is still on beat 4
9) enter a new note by typing G
==> this new note is inserted on beat 4 where was the highlight, as expected, but is inconsistent with what happens on step 5.

Minor issue, no urgency :) Thanks for your amazing work !

I'm a bit confused by the steps here - is your measure in 8/4? Or maybe you meant eighth notes? Something it still doesn't quite make sense to me though. But I think I get the basic gist of it. If you write up a clearer set up steps, and maybe a make a video to make it completely clear, then please open an issue on GitHub to report this to the development team - https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/issues
