wrong percussion instrument sound with default soundfont (V 3.6.2)

• May 12, 2023 - 15:21

Using the default soundfonts in V 2.6.2, I'm getting the wrong sounds out of both the clave and the wood block. There are two different issues that are probably related. One: the notation was first written for piano and then copied onto the clave & wood block instrument systems, and somehow those percussion lines play more than one sound even though notation for these two instruments doesn't support more than one sound.
Two, the sounds produced for both are identical to each other, and sound like elements of a drum kit and not like any wooden percussion. Maybe copying from pitched to unpitched instruments isn't supported ???? I've included a simplified version of the score file: "rhythms_test.mscz". Thanks for the help.

Wood block supports 'High Wood Block and Low Wood Block. Click on a note in the wood block staff, press N and see the drum input palette displayed at the bottom of the screen. Observing the piano notes in your attachment, I used high and low for the 2 different piano notes:

To get the correct sounds...
Since you already had notes/rhythm entered in the percussion staves, I used Re-Pitch mode to enter the correct percussion "pitches" - A or B for high/low wood block, A for claves.
