Odd behavior of harpischord and base clarinet Muse Sounds

• May 22, 2023 - 00:04

First off, I love MuseScore and appreciate all the work people have put into it. My problem is that sometimes when I attempt to use certain instrument Muse Sounds to replace older MS Basic files in some pieces originally created in MuseScore 3, really odd things happen. In one piece, the Muse Sound for the Clarinet kept introducing these distinct clicks. Most odd was when I switched one piece from MS Basic piano to Muse Sound harpsichord the first note in measure 37 would not play, even though the same phrase occurred earlier in the piece without problem. Even if I cleared out the measure before, the same thing happened. What I finally discovered is that adding an empty measure at the beginning of the score shifted the missing note forward by about a measure. My question is, is there a best-practice for, I guess, "sterilizing" an old MuseScore 3 score to prevent some of these things from happening? Thank you!!

Please post a score that does this. Then we can change to the Muse sounds instruments to see if it happens to us.

I have no idea what happened. Does it have anything to do with moving this from MU3 to MU4? No idea. I have moved plenty of scores to MU4. Never had this happen. I don't use harpsichord much. I can say that with starting playback at measure 34, it was fine. Starting from 33 or before, first note of 37 didn't sound.

I C+P'd the whole piece into a new score and it played properly.

That's all I know.

Thank you. Yes, I think it has to do with this originally being MU3. Something deep in the code. I copied the whole thing as well, and yet still had the same problem, so probably also something odd about my system (plain vanilla mid-range laptop that it is.) Anyway, THANK YOU so much for the time and effort.
