MuseScore 4.1 release candidate is ready for testing

• Jul 7, 2023 - 19:43

Hi all,

We are pleased to announce the MuseScore 4.1 release candidate!

Please download builds for your respective operating systems here:

macOS
https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/releases/download/v4.1.0-rc/Muse…

Windows
https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/releases/download/v4.1.0-rc/Muse…

Linux
https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/releases/download/v4.1.0-rc/Muse…

We are targeting a release date of Tuesday or Wednesday next week. Please give this a solid test over the coming days so we can be sure there are no unexpected surprises lurking in the shadows.

Please note:
- The release candidate has been built in stable mode, which means it will replace any existing version of MuseScore 4 you have on your computer.
- The stable version of Muse Hub has now been updated with the latest version of musesampler, so there is technically no longer a need to use the Hub beta when testing MuseScore 4.1.

You know what to do! Thank you so much for your efforts and contributions thus far.

The MuseScore team.

Thank you for the RC.

I see there is still no way to control what soundfont sound is being used for an instrument. I have been exploring ways to split soundfonts, and it's a can of worms. I think I'll stick with 3.6.2 for now.

It happens that I started working on a concert band recently. I hope 4.1 can improve the experience. Can't wait for the release!
