Musescore 4.0.2 unable to see NFS volumes

• Jul 8, 2023 - 12:09

Hello,
Yes, I do have seen that other users have reported this issue, without any success. So, I am conscious that I shouldn't hope a solution...
But, I report that as an additional impacted user.
My environment:
- an up-to-date laptop Fedora Linux 36 with Cinnamon desktop
- selinux is disabled
- and my Music folder is on my networked file server, mounted through NFS :
type nfs4 (rw,relatime,vers=4.2,rsize=1048576,wsize=1048576,namlen=255,soft,proto=tcp,timeo=600,retrans=2,sec=sys,clientaddr=10.9.1.86,local_lock=none,addr=10.9.1.8)
Musescore here is run though a flatpak install.

Curiously enough, I have another laptop which does not exhibit this same issue
- Ubuntu 22.04.2 LTS with Cinnamon desktop
- where Music folder is also loaded through NFS:
type nfs4 (rw,relatime,vers=4.2,rsize=1048576,wsize=1048576,namlen=255,soft,proto=tcp,timeo=600,retrans=2,sec=sys,clientaddr=10.9.1.33,local_lock=none,addr=10.9.1.8)

And, yes again, Musescore is also the only application where I have found this issue (though I probably use other Qt apps, LibreOffice for example).

Good luck with that ;)

Regards
Pierre

Comments

Precision 1: on Ubuntu, Musescore is ran through MuseScore-4.0.2.230651545-x86_64.AppImage binary
Precision 2 : on Fedora, the AppImage binary:
- doesn't see symlinks to a directory as a directory
- but accesses rightly to NFS volumes (fine !)

So, one can say that at least my issue would stay somewhere in the flatpack build...
