Pasting error--tie added to beginning of phrase

• Jul 12, 2023 - 18:10

Greetings, just reporting a consistent glitch since update today:

After copying the information in the second line, if I paste at the beginning of the bar in the top soprano, it does that correctly. If I try to paste starting from a different beat a tie magically appears.

This behavior didn't happen until I installed the latest update today.

It's difficult to diagnose problems from just pictures. Please attach the actual score, then list precise steps to reproduce the problem (eg, say what you are selecting to copy, and where exactly you are pasting it).

Hi, Marc: attaching below.

Issue comes when copying/pasting from material that begins on beat one of a measure (e.g. tenor in the 3/4 bar, or a measure later in the S2). If you paste onto beat one someplace else, it seems to work fine. If you try to paste on a different beat (say, beat three), an inexplicable tie occurs as in my initial picture.

Indeed, I was able to reproduce the problem. Please open an issue on GitHub (https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/issues), and in doing so, give the instructions as precisely as possible. For example:

  1. Click the D on beat 1 of bar 2 in the second Tenor part to select that note
  2. Shift+click the D on beat 1 of bar 3 to select that range
  3. Ctrl+C to copy
  4. Click the rest on beat 2 or bar 5 in the alto part
  5. Ctrl+V to paste

Ypu'll need to ZIp your score in order to attach it there
