Instrument parts and their sounds

I'm transcribing choral pieces from whatever the choir master hands out to a (to me) more chorister friendly SATB style. Listening to the voicing of Musescore soprano etc. voice to me is highly unpleasant. In MU3 there was an easy fix, change the instrument sounding to whatever other instrument sound was available.

Come MU4.0 this didn't work anymore, the voice naming and the sounding to be appeared locked together.

Come MU4.1, naturally I had to find if it had been fixed, well, they have in a round-about way. To change the sounding:
Select Instruments and then any one of the voices you want to change, e.g., Soprano
Click the 'gear' symbol to its right and, at the bottom of the pop up box, Replace Instrument, e.g., Keyboard | Piano
As this changes the Name on Main Score etc., this has to be changed back to Soprano and Sop. for the abbreviation.

In short: ''Replace instrument'', then change ''Name on main score'' and change ''Abbreviated name'' back to their intended names.

I for one am happy with this fix - Thank you developer team :o)

You can change to any other sound via Msue Sounds or VST - something never possible before. If you wish to limit consideration to just sounfonts as older versions did, then you can still do this, but you need a soundfont split into separate files. See for example https://community.masteringmusescore.com/c/resources/ms-basic-individua…

Meanwhile, the method you use does work also - it's just a lot more effort. This isn't new with 4.1, BTW - it has always worked.
