You must have your music score as a PDF file. Then use "File/PDF import".
But be aware: OMR is by no means perfect, especially if the source is of poor quality. Often triplets or augmentation dots are not recognized, which leads to wrong measure lengths.
Then you have to correct these reading errors manually. This can also require a lot of effort.
But then you can change the score as you like.
I have tried this as well, but have switched to transcribing everything manually.
You can use Import PDF from the File menu or go directly to https://musescore.com/import.
If you need this more often, you can install the latest free Audiveris on your PC from
https://github.com/Audiveris/audiveris/releases
Here you can make corrections before transferring to Musescore, but this also requires some practice.
