Problems with the Tempo Changes plugin

I was having problems with the Tempo Changes plugin. The steps I used are as followed:
1. I selected the spot where I wanted to put the tempo change.
2. I clicked 'Plugins' at the top of the screen.
3. I clicked 'TempoChanges'.
4. I put in my parameters (rit. on quarter notes from 110 to 60. I didn't touch the midpoint on the graph or anything.)
5. I clicked 'Apply'.
...and literally nothing happened. On occasion, it would write 'rit.' without actually putting in any tempo markers like it usually does. Note that this only started about halfway through this score.

Oh. I got it. I simply had to select the entire section that the change would affect, not just the start of it. (Which of course makes a lot of sense.) Hope this helps someone. :)
