rests in rhythmic cues misplaced in the staff

Hi, thanks for reading. I'm trying to create one unified part for a lead sheet that contains both the rhythmic cues above the staff and the melody in the main voice. However, the features for rhythmic cues (exchange voice 1-3, toggle rhythmic slash notation) seem to only align the rests with the actual cue rhythms if I then fill the staff with slashes, like what would typically be done in a drum part. Is there a way to get the rests aligned with the rhythms while still keeping the melody on the staff, or is this a bug / not an intended use case for rhythmic cues?
