4.1.1 won't save my work!

• Sep 12, 2023 - 23:54

I uploaded 4.1.1 and now it won't save my work. I have tried several times today.

Also, why can't we use copy and paste to enter the info for the copyright? I use ArrangeMe to arrange music to sell back on their site (legally, using the copyrights they have with the artists). It would be really great to be able to copy and paste in their copyrights like we used to be able to do before Musescore 4.0 came along. Thanks

Not a silly question at all. I always do a "save as" so that I can save it to my external hard drive. I have always done that with all my work with previous Musescore versions. This was my second attempt with Musescore 4 (today I downloaded 4.1.1 after removing 4.0 several weeks ago when I first tried it and had a lot of issues and returned to Musescore 3). Everything worked well (except I still hate that we can't copy and paste things into the initial part where we enter the copyright, title, etc as I do arrangements through ArrangeMe and get the copyrights from them to be able to arrange copyrighted songs to sell back on their site). Overall I do like the way it works, but this really was frustrating that I did all the work I did today, but lost it when I went to save it. Now I will have to do it all over again, either back in Musescore 3 (which I kept on my computer) or on Noteflight (which I don't like as well as Musescore, even though I pay for it). I have a really tight schedule, so this was really frustrating!

I will try that for C&P . I couldn't get anything to work in the copyright section, though.

I couldn't get it to save at all. I could get the path through to where I wanted it to save, but it wouldn't do the actual saving once the path was established . I tried it to my PC directly and also to my own cloud (not the musescore one). It would let you rake it right through to the file where you wanted to save it, but wouldn't actually save it there when you hit "save" once the file was designated.

I appreciate your help 😊

So, you can't save to your MU4 scores folder. Or anywhere for that matter. Sounds fishy to me. If you are on Windows, open your MU4 folder and right click on the scores folder. Folder properties opens. Select the Security tab. Make sure Read and Write have a check mark under Allow.
No idea why they wouldn't be checked.
