Recent scores disappeared

So I open the Musescore 4 tab I already had open of a piece I had been working on. I'm able to listen to the playback, but when I click home to access my other scores, musescore says the file for my other score has been corrupted. After this, the tab closes, and when I reopen it, the last few scores I had been working on have completely disappeared, as if I had been sent back in time. They aren't in the recent scores list either. I click view hidden files and check the backups to find that none of those scores are in the backups. I search .mscz to no avail. These scores are still saved on a separate program in midi form, but the midi files I imported onto that program have also been deleted, leaving me with nothing but playbacks. For a couple of the scores that were orchestrated, I've lost the instrumentation as well. Is there somewhere I haven't looked? I don't know why MS4 would suddenly delete my recent progress.

Update: I've found several files in the program data that I believe to be the files for my lost scores. They don't have their original names but their dates match up. Opening them leads to the same corrupted file pop up but they still say they have the original file size.

MuseScore cannot delete files - only you can do that.
Of course, you can overwrite existing files with others, but there is an overwrite hint that must be confirmed.
However, you can open the File Open dialog and, at least in Windows, delete files in that window. But the user has to do that actively as well.

Your problem must have a completely different reason.

If you have a file that reports errors when you open it, attach it here and someone will work to fix it.
