Musescore4 DOES NOT OPEN after closing / Using Windows 10 Pro

• Oct 21, 2023 - 18:42

Problem: it consists of 2 types of crashes or freezes, the first one the most problematic as it interrupts all work and I have no option but to re-boot the computer making it really unusable. It has really great interface and great menus, options but the constant rebooting is beyond a problem.
Error 1: if I work on a score and close Musescore4 it will not open again.
Error 2: if I try to open another score while keeping a previous one open, it will hang and freeze.
If I go to task manager it reads: Suspended.

I will appreciate any suggetions to solve this.

Panoramik

Notation software is not like any other software. I'm sure your audio setup works with all your other production programs. But notation software is not primarily audio software. it is for printing scores. Audio output is secondary.
So to find your problem, I think you will need to start by using only built in audio. If you can find the problem, then you might be able to add it back in.

Primary suspects are:
1. Buffer rate too low in MuseScore.
2. Audio device bit rate too high for Musescore to run correctly.
3. Exclusive mode needs to be turned off.

Plus you should update to 4.1.

Believe it or not, I have heard of audio devices causing a no start of MU4
