It isn't playing the music back at the right tempo (the one wrote on the sheet music)

• Oct 25, 2023 - 09:29

Ive looked for an answer everywhere and cant find anything.
I wrote for it to be played at eighth note = 156 but when I play it back it sounds way faster.
I cant find anything in my settings or on the score that would make it speed up.
Would appreciate any help someone could give me
Thanks :)

In the Properties panel, you should look at the tempo details for your "eeighth note = 156" tempo mark.

If you disable the checkbox "Follow written tempo", the actual BPM shows as 78BPM - or perhaps 788PM (my eyesight isn't great). But if you then enable "Follow written tempo", the BPM is silently changed to 78.00BPM. And the score then plays back at the expected tempo.

It seems like a bug to me - unless you manually typed 788PM?

"it definitely says 78BPM"

Read my post again. When the underlying tempo changed silently to 78.00BPM, the score played at the expected tempo. If necessary, uncheck "Follow written tempo" and in "Override written tempo" try changing the BPM manually to 78.00BPM. It worked for me once the underlying tempo had the decimal point and two zeros. I can't see why there might be a difference in playback behaviour between 78BPM and 78.00BPM, but the latter worked for me.
