What’s It Called When You Have the First Bar a Different Time Signature than the One Notated?

Let’s say I’m creating a piece that starts in 4/4, but I want the first bar to only have 2 8th notes as a lead-in to the first “main” bar, so to speak. I can’t remember what that’s called in sheet music. And how do I create it in MuseScore 4?
